The pope has been telling us that he won't last long since he was elected. We don't really know what prompts him to keep reminding us of this. Is there some dark secret about his health that he has kept from us? Has he received some private revelation about his fate? All that we know is that he has sciatica, and had part of one of his lungs removed in his youth. There also has been talk of difficulty breathing suggesting some heart condition. But that could also be a symptom of his reduced lung capacity.

He stays quite active for a man of his age. But we see nothing outwardly that would suggest that he has only a very short time left. That's not to say that the end can't come in an instant for even the most healthy of us.

I think the Holy Father talks too much about it, and that he should leave the hour of his passing in the hands of Our Lord.

Not sure he is the last pope.
But surely he Is the latest pope.
And sure he has only one lung.
That is what makes him think
what he says.
