People don't hate what is evil.
Lots of people are on that broad path to destruction now, & believing in the lie that abortion is in every circumstance a 'health care' and 'women's rights' issue.
The WHO & UN & other 'professionals' are who people are looking up to for direction.
One thing that really struck me was the lurching of the politicians from their previous pro-life positions to the opposite.
They got tossed back and forth because they are immature & not rooted in Christ.
Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.
Ephesians 4:14.

You inspired me to look up the bible Merlorrich! I think it is a sign.
I found these ones.

He shot his arrows and scattered the enemy, with great bolts of lightning he routed them. Psalm 18:14

Do you know how God controls the storm and causes the lightning to flash from his clouds? Job 37:15

He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. See, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will harm you.…Luke 10:18-19

In relation to the fallen tree i found these ones:
Saints are described as being like trees:

To grant those who mourn in Zion, Giving them a garland instead of ashes, The oil of gladness instead of mourning, The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting So they will be called oaks of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.
Isaiah 61:3

Trees as being illustrative of kings:
"All the trees of the field will know that I am the LORD; I bring down the high tree, exalt the low tree, dry up the green tree and make the dry tree flourish. I am the LORD; I have spoken, and I will perform it." Ezekiel 17:24

Trees in relation to evil:
Indeed the axe is already laid at the root of the trees; so every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire."

Psalm 37:35

Anyway Merlorrich; I'll have to take a leaf out of your book and pray more for God's mercy for us all, myself included.
Haven't been to confession in a while!

Sorry to hear the same news for Argentina. From my perspective there certainly seemed to be a lot of deceit and scheming in the years building up to the Referendum. There arguments were one sided and superficially were appealing: talk of mercy, compassion, my body/my choice etc. are emotive have a certain appeal, but they are shallow and there is no-one arguing for the baby. It is like a decision that can be made without repercussion or conscience. In those arguments the role of the father is also sidelined. Instead of having an equal respsonsibility in the well being of the baby, the father is cast as someone to support the mother's choice ( and not as some one who has an obligation to protect both mother and baby). I think we need men to start acting like heads of the family and not merely as facilitators:) But also we need to pray, pray, pray.

I need to go to confession myself Maryh. Nice pun about taking a 'leaf; out of my book after all this talk about 'trees'.
