greet and assist you to your private deluxe motor coach. Transfer to hotel for check-in. Welcome dinner and overnight. (D)

After lunch in the Vatican area (on your own) you will visit the Basilica of St. John Lateran and the “Palace of the Holy Steps”... the actual steps that Christ, it is believed, climbed when He was brought before Pilate. Visit also other basilicas such as St. Paul Outside the Walls, San Clemente and St. Mary Major. In one of these church you will attend the mass. Dinner and overnight at your hotel. (B, D)

MAY 22 ROME - ASSISI (PAPAL BLESSIG) Today you will attend the Papal blessing. Swiss guards surround the Basil- ica and Audience Hall assuring all is peaceful in eager anticipation of the Holy Father’s entrance. You will visit the highlights of Ancient Rome including the SCAVI tour under St. Peter's basilica. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to Assisi. Attend Holy Mass. Check in to your hotel. Dinner and overnight. (B, D)

MAY 23 ASSISI After breakfast and Holy Mass, depart on your scenic ride to Assisi, mystical town of St. Francis and St. Clare. Ancient walls surround Assisi and colorful houses of pink stone with flower-decked balconies. Its narrow winding streets spread in a fan shape over Mt. Subasio. This morning you tour the Basilica of St. Francis, with its lower church containing the Crypt of St. Francis and actual articles belonging to St. Francis ~ his tunic, shoes, chalice and communion plate. The upper church houses the Frescoes of Giotto and Cimabue depicting the life of St. Francis and the famous painting Virgin and Child with Four Angels. You will see the Crucifix of San Diamiano, which spoke to St. Francis. You will also visit the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli ~ St. Mary of the Angels ~ containing the famous Porziuncola, the chapel where St. Francis consecrated St. Clare and where in 1226 St. Francis passed from this life into eternal life. Dinner and overnight. (B, D)

MAY 24 ASSISI - MEDJUGORJE After breakfast, spend the morning at your leisure. In the afternoon, you will be trans- ferred to Rome’s airport to catch a flight to Split, Croatia. Upon arrival at Split Airport, transfer by motorcoach to Medjugorje. Welcome dinner and overnight. (B, D)

MAY 25 - 30 MEDJUGOJRE Medjugorje is a simple mountain village. Experience its beauty, spirituality, and peace. During our stay, we will share our faith with thousands of people from all over the world. Each morning at 10:00am, we meet at St. James Church for the English language Mass (Feast days and Sundays English Mass is at noon). Our local bilingual tour guide will escort us to the Hill of Apparitions where the visionaries first saw Our Blessed Virgin Mary. Pray before the statue that symbolizes the place of the first apparition. In 1933 the villagers built a 30’ high cross on the anniversary of Jesus’ crucifix- ion on top of Cross Mountain (Krizevac). We will climb the mountain through the Stations of the Cross. Also, visit and pray at “Blue Cross”. A place of healings and graces at the foot of Apparition Hill. We will have the chance to attend meetings and talks with the visionaries (subject to their availability and health during our trip). We will visit "Cenacolo" (Sr Elvira's drug reahb center). In the evening, we can join the villagers at 5:00pm (or 6:00pm daylight savings time) to pray the rosary. Followed by Croatian Mass during which there is the blessing of the items you have with you. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament or Veneration of The Cross takes place after the evening Croatian Mass except on Wednesdays and Saturday. We will also have time for personal prayer and reflection (B.D)
